WhatsApp, the instant messaging app, seems to be bringing in almost all the features that will fulfil most of our daily needs. The app already has a number of chatbots for easy access to a number of information, from COVID-19 information to health information like the ‘Ask Raksha.’ And now the app has introduced a new period-tracking chatbot in collaboration with Sirona Hygiene Pvt. Ltd, an Indian brand that makes feminine hygiene products. This new chatbot will let women track their periods via WhatsApp. Here’s how you can access this period tracking chatbot.

The users will have to just message ‘Hi’ to the number +919718866644 to activate the tracker.

The chatbot will offer three options: track periods, conceive, and avoid pregnancy. Users will be required to enter their basic details about their last period cycle, duration of their cycle, regularity, etc, so the chatbot can keep a record and predict the accurate period dates.

Once activated, the chatbot will start giving reminders about upcoming cycle dates. The app will also give users an update on their ovulation cycle to help them in conceiving pregnancy.

It also has an option for those who want to avoid pregnancy by highlighting their ovulating period. However, all this information depends on the accuracy of the information shared by users. Any change in your menstruation cycle could result in the wrong prediction from chatbot. Additionally, users can also edit their details, Also, the chatbot will let users view their next three menstruation cycles.

Talking about the same, Sirona says the chatbot has been built on the WhatsApp Business Platform. Meanwhile, Sirona also has its own app dedicated to a complete ecosystem around menstrual health and hygiene. The app/website offers e-commerce, educational content, community engagement and an in-built period tracker.
