As per the constitution of India, our country is a Union of States where all the executive powers of state are vested in the post of Governor. All the executive actions of the state are taken in the name of the Governor. As per article 154, the Governor is designated as the constitutional head of each of the 28 states.

Role of Governor in State Executive

When we talk about the state executive body then it consists of the Governor, Chief Minister, Council of Ministers and Advocate-General of state. The Governor is appointed by the President of India for a period of Five years. Although all the executive decisions are taken on his name, he acts upon the advice of the council of Ministers.
