Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is all set to conduct the Young Scientist Programme, Yuva Vigyani Karyakram (YUVIKA) 2020 between May 11 and 22. The online application process for the second edition of ISRO Young Scientist Program 2020 concluded on March 5. ISRO YUVIKA 2020 provisional selection list was released on March 10, 2020. ISRO YUVIKA 2020 Postponed

ISRO has postponed the Young Scientist Programme (YUVIKA) 2020 scheduled between May 11 and 22 due to nation-wide lockdown caused by the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. ISRO has released an important notice on April 20 regarding postponement of ISRO YUVIKA 2020.

ISRO’s official website reads, “The Young Scientist programme (YUVIKA) was scheduled to be held during May 11-22, 2020. In connection with the measures taken in the wake of COVID-19, it has been decided to postpone the YUVIKA 2020 programme. The revised schedule of the programme will be informed subsequently.”

ISRO has released the Young Scientist Programme 2020 provisional selection list. Candidates who have registered for the YUVIKA 2020 can visit the official site to check the selection list. ISRO YUVIKA 2020 result list is available only on the official site. A total of 368 students shortlisted for ISRO YUVIKA 2020.

The official YUVIKA 2020 notice reads, “This is the provisional list of selected candidates for the Yuvika 2020 programme. The final selection list of 113 students (including OCI) will be published after the verification of relevant certificates.

What After ISRO YUVIKA 2020 Provisional List?

The provisionally selected candidates should check the result details meticulously in the pdf. The shortlisted candidates should upload the pdf copy of 8th Std marks card and other relevant certificates through the official site from March 16, 2020, onwards. The last date to upload the certificates is March 26, 2020 (18:00 Hrs).

ISRO has closed the registration window for Young Scientist Programme 2020. Candidates who have applied for “YUVIKA 2020 can find the provisional selection list on March 10, 2020, at 17:00 hrs. Aspirants are advised to track all the important updates on the official site. The sources suggest that it has received over 1,53,000 registrations for ISRO YUVIKA 2020.

The official website reads, “YUVIKA 2020 – Online Registration Closed – Provisional Selection List will be published on 10th March 2020 at 17:00 Hrs”

ISRO YUVIKA 2020 Registration Last Date

ISRO has extended the last date for the Yuva Vigyani Karyakram (YUVIKA) registration. The registration window for YUVIKA was scheduled to close today, i.e., February 24 and it has been extended by 10 days now.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned about ISRO YUVIKA 2020 in his 62nd Mann Ki Baat radio programme held on February 23. He also tweeted about the revised last date for applying.

Modi Tweeted, ”Great news for youngsters! @ISRO very kindly decides to extend the last day for applying to #YUVIKA2020 by ten more days. Do register for the programme my young friends.”

ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020

The programme aims to impart the basic knowledge of Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to the younger ones. The programme creates awareness amongst the youngsters who are the future building blocks of the country.

ISRO Young Scientist Program 2020 will be of two weeks duration during summer holidays. The schedule will include invited talks, experience sharing by the eminent scientists, facility and lab visits, exclusive sessions for discussions with experts, practical and feedback sessions.

A total of three students from each State/ Union Territory will be selected to participate in the ISRO YUVIKA programme covering CBSE, ICSE and State syllabus. However, a total of five additional seats are reserved for OCI candidates across the country.

ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020: Eligibility

Students who have finished 8th standard and currently studying in 9th standard (in the academic year 2019-20) will be eligible for the programme. Students who are studying in India including OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) are eligible for the programme.

ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020: Selection Process

The selection of the candidates will be done through online registration between February 03 and 24, 2020. The shortlisting will be based on the 8th Standard academic performance and extracurricular activities. Aspirants are advised to refer the official notification for detailed weightage description.
