NEW DELHI: India reported 2,706 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, little less than the 2,828 infections the country recorded the previous day, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Monday.
The death count, however, rose to 25 from 14 the day before, pushing India’s toll to 5,24,611, said the data.
Active cases have also risen to 17,698 from 17,087, with India’s overall case tally reaching 4,31,55,749, Union health ministry said.
Recoveries too improved a little. As many as 2,070 people recovered in the last 24 hours, as compared to 2,035 the previous day, taking the total number of recoveries to 4,26,13,440 in the country.
As many as 2,78,267 tests were conducted during the previous day.
Also, only 2,28,823 people were vaccinated on Sunday, taking the total number of vaccinations to 1,93,31,57,352.
