Indian pharmaceutical market (IPM) grew 14.1% in value and 7.3% in volumes, in the month of July on back of strong growth across all the therapy areas, according to market research firm AWACS.

All therapeutic categories, except anti-infectives have witnessed double digit growth.

The fastest growing categories are respiratory which grew at 22.3%, gynaecology – 24%, chemotherapy – 28.4%, urology – 22.5%, ophthalmic – 18.8%, pain – 16.9% and derma – 16.7%. The monsoon related flu-season and rebound of non-emergency surgeries, could have led to the growth of the above segments.

Augmentin of GSK, Glycomet of USV and Mixtard of Abbott, remain top-3 selling brands in India.
