IIM Calcutta Offering Executive Programme In Healthcare Management For Medical Professionals

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) is offering a new Executive Programme in Healthcare Management. The new course will begin in September 2021 and it is aimed for medical professionals and executives in the healthcare industry. The one-year course will be delivered in a blended learning model that includes online classes as well as a ten-day campus visit. Every Sunday, classes for the Executive Program in Healthcare Management will be held. The candidates who are interested in the programme can register online at the institute’s website by the end of August.

The Executive Programme in Healthcare Management (EPHM), according to an IIM statement, seeks to provide a global perspective of the healthcare sector, as well as the newest policies and their implementation.

Practices such as disaster and pandemic management are also included in the new Executive Program, which is particularly important for professionals in today’s environment. The new program’s goal is to build an integrated approach towards healthcare management and to train participants in managerial leadership.

The course also introduces participants to innovation and entrepreneurship in the Indian healthcare sector, as well as comparative frameworks for understanding healthcare challenges in developing nations, according to IIM Calcutta.

The course is open to healthcare professionals such as doctors, hospital administrators, medical and related industry workers such as pharmaceuticals and medical insurance, as well as healthcare entrepreneurs.

IIM Calcutta Executive Programme in Healthcare Management: Eligibility

  • Medical practitioners and administrators having a UGC/AICTE/MCI-recognition or MBBS/BDS/BAMS degree or equivalent.
  • Students having a background in biotechnology or biomedicine (bachelor’s degree or higher) are also eligible to apply.
  • All applicants must have received a minimum of 50% in their graduation or postgraduate studies.

As of the application deadline, applicants must have at least three years of experience in the healthcare field. Applicants from other disciplines will be considered if they have at least five years of experience in the healthcare sector as of the application deadline.
